Architectural design has always been about more than bricks and mortar; it shapes the way we live, work, and interact with our surroundings. Good design inspires and enriches our lives, and embodies the creativity, passion, unique skills, and innovative thinking that architects bring to society.
Yet, the future of the profession is at a critical juncture. As California and the world face evolving challenges such as climate change, rapid urbanization, and social disparities we must ensure a robust pipeline of aspiring architects. To achieve this, we must provide education and resources about the impact of design–as well as support the professional development of architects-to-be in partnership with our communities.
CAF + AIA California: Working Together
The California Architectural Foundation is a separate 501(c)3 charitable organization, but is a related entity to AIA CA. The organizations enjoy a synergistic relationship and great effort is being taken to encourage much stronger interaction between the two.
AIA CA has made a significant financial investment in building the infrastructure of CAF to enable it to become a more effective and sustainable entity.
