Architectural design has always been about more than bricks and mortar; it shapes the way we live, work, and interact with our surroundings. Good design inspires and enriches our lives, and embodies the creativity, passion, unique skills, and innovative thinking that architects bring to society.

Yet, the future of the profession is at a critical juncture. As California and the world face evolving challenges such as climate change, rapid urbanization, and social disparities we must ensure a robust pipeline of aspiring architects. To achieve this, we must provide education and resources about the impact of design–as well as support the professional development of architects-to-be in partnership with our communities.

CAF + AIA California: Working Together

The California Architectural Foundation (CAF) is the charitable 501(c)(3) arm of AIA California. The two organizations share a strong, collaborative relationship, with ongoing efforts to deepen their connection and impact.

A financial commitment from AIA California has provided vital support to re-envision the Foundation, but CAF must build the strength and resources necessary to sustain its mission for the long term.
